At the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus, individuals with disabilities are entitled to access, support, and when appropriate, reasonable accommodations. We provide disability-related information, services, and resources for faculty, staff and visitors. We are responsible for providing reasonable accommodations for faculty and staff, educating the campus community, and promoting equal access and opportunity for those with disabilities. Additionally, ADA Compliance works in conjunction with Facilities Management to address the structural accessibility needs of the campus community.
A reasonable accommodation is any modification or adjustment to a job or the work environment that will enable a qualified applicant or employee with a disability to participate in the application process or to perform essential job functions.
In order to determine whether an employee is eligible for an accommodation under the ADA, ADA Compliance will ask for documentation of a medical condition to determine whether it qualifies as a disability under the ADA. Having a medical condition alone is not enough to make an employee eligible for an accommodation; under the ADA, a disability is physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities, such as breathing, eating, sleeping, walking, talking, manual tasks, etc. Your medical provider may need to complete our Reasonable Accommodation Documentation Form to assist the Office of Equity in determining what accommodation(s) may be necessary.

Report an Accessibility Issue
If you encounter an access barrier on the CU Denver campus or CU Anschutz campus, you may use this form to report it to the Office of Equity.
The law requires ADA Compliance to keep medical information confidential. However, the law allows us to share information regarding your need for accommodation with individuals who are considered to have a legitimate need to know this information. These persons can include your supervisor(s), human resources personnel, first aid and safety personnel, personnel investigating compliance with the ADA, and other persons considered to have a legitimate need to know. The law does not prohibit you from voluntarily discussing your condition or medical information with others.
